Dust in the workplace!
In many work areas, a considerable amount of dust is released every day. TA-Luft (Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control) is a regulation in Germany that deals with limiting emissions from plants and machinery. Since its introduction in 2002, TA-Luft has been the fundamental guideline for air pollution control in Germany. It specifies limit values and technical measures that must be implemented by plant and machine operators in order to reduce emissions into the air to a minimum.
The TA-Luft is therefore an important instrument for improving air quality in Germany and protecting public health.
At first glance, dust may seem harmless, but it can actually be dangerous and even carcinogenic. The danger depends on the amount inhaled and the size of the dust particles. The smaller the particles, the deeper they penetrate into the lungs and can clog the alveoli..
More and more plant and machine operators are taking technical measures to reduce these dust emissions. One method involves using water mist. The material to be processed is moistened directly with water to prevent dust from forming. If it is not possible to apply moisture directly to the material, a horizontal or vertical mist barrier can be created. In this application, the volatile dust absorbs moisture as it passes through a mist barrier and then falls to the ground due to its increased weight.
NEBOLEX Umwelttechnik has developed products for effective water atomization based on its extensive expertise in mechanical engineering and many years of experience with dust binding systems.
Our NEBOLEX dust binding system is used in many areas, such as tunnel construction, underground mining, coal mining, the processing, handling, and storage of bulk materials, paper, metal, and construction waste recycling, as well as in quarries, steel and concrete plants, waste incineration plants, and when loading and unloading ships with harbor cranes. The NEBOLEX atomization system for dust suppression has become indispensable in these areas.
