Screen fogging
Water spraying on a discharge belt.
In a quartz plant in the northern part of Rhineland-Palatinate, we were faced with the challenge of minimizing dust turbulence and reducing environmental pollution. Here, rock is extracted from a quarry pond and then transported to a crusher by wheel loaders. The crushing and discharge of the 0-2 grain size crushed sand resulted in significant dust generation.
The Basiscube, a semi-mobile supply unit from NEBOLEX, was used for the test setup. During test runs with fresh water, the plant technology convinced not only the authorities but also our customer. The later installation of the plant was carried out with a special filter technology using industrial water.
Material is fed by the wheel loader sporadically, and water spraying is controlled by ultrasonic sensors. As soon as the wheel loader passes the barrier, the fogging process starts for a preset time at the crusher. The start, water application and fogging time are precisely monitored and controlled.
The targeted use of water mist not only protects your employees, but also the environment and nature.
